Crown Jointed Chickens now being offered

A big well done to Belinda at Sutton Hoo for being featured so well on last week's episode of BBc's Taste of Britain and nice to see Brian Turner cooking one of her chicken's in Belinda's own kitchen (it was supposed to be done elsewhere, but a big downpour of rain meant they were stuck and so ended up using her kitchen!)


I am sure Belinda wont mind me saying being an independent, smaller scale chicken producer in England these days is seriously difficult, and done for love as much as money, and that this kind of coverage is invaluable - so well done her.


Brian Turner produced a lovely looking dish (recipe here), by jointing the chicken in such a way as to leave the crown intact, and perfect for a quicker cooking roast. If you would like to try having a bird jointed this way, then you now can - it will cook the bird in around half the time and leave you a good amount of carcass to make soup with.
