Better late than never: Asparagus!

Well, it came eventually! Asparagus season usually starts on St George's Day (23rd April) and finishes in time for the summer solstice (21st June).

But a chilly April, meant that those tasty spears stayed in the ground, and did appear, ready for picking until May.

It should mean that they are here now until the end of June - we will see.

Our Essex Asparagus is grown by Tony Brew, of Coggeshall, and our organic bunches are grown by Clive Martin of Holmselect, Cambridgeshire - enjoy!
