Some hugely welcome rain this last weekend!
Maldon (in Essex) from where much of our non-certified Essex produce comes (Roy & Rita Hill at Wild Fields, Matt Hill at Garden Harvest, The McCready Family at Jacobs Farm) has been endlessly windy and dry in recent weeks.
But hey presto, they had 34mm of rain last weekend, and the outlook is looking a lot brighter!
Spinach is back, as are marrows (and we now have organic marrows in too), the first cabbages and celery are appearing, and potatoes have grown, so we are now offering both baby potatoes as well as early crop varieties of Vanessa (waxy - ie better for steaming / boiling / baking) & Marfonas (floury - ie better for mashing / roasting).
