On days like these, with the temperature up, you can see the daily change in the size of the produce as it grows, which makes for an exciting time of year, as the range of producers starts to get that little bit firmer.
We have the first or Matthew's little red gem lettuces in, which are the first of the year's lettuces that have got a bit of crunch in them, as I know many of you have been impatient for.
And we also have the first full sized Organic Globe Artichokes in (sorry for the unexpected crop gap last week), as well as the first Calabrese Broccoli, Garden Peas.
The calabrese takes over from the Purple Sprouting Broccoli, which is now flowering - the brassica family working in perfect, contiguous harmony.
Please note, that we therefore stopped taking the Jersey Royals this week as Roy & Rita'sNew Potatoes are now ready - they will be just as good, we promise, and I think they always represent the start of summer, steamed and served in a vinaigrette with spring onions.
