Apricots, Peaches & Melons: a unique year!

05 August 2014

Its been a special, warm summer and that is meant that some experiemental planting has revealed earlier than expected results!

The peach and apricot trees at Tiptree are still pretty young and were not expected to yield any significant fruit this year, but the warm weather has given us a short, but exciting crop of
peaches and apricots - they wil only last for another week or two, but hopefully as the trees mature, they length and yield of the crop will improve - certainly it has been a very exciting start!

And down at Gill Wing Farm in Kent, they are very always keen to try something different, and their first attempts at growing
Alvaro Melons has again been a happy success, of course aided by the warm and wet summer.
