It was suggested that we put ourselves forward for the Observer Food Monthly 2014 Awards for "Best Independent Retailer".
In fact we are not putting ourselves forward as such at all - it is all about reader nominations, and so all we can do is encourage you to vote for us.
We do feel fractionally uncomfortable about this - we are not believers in blowing one's own trumpet, let alone asking others to blow their trumpets on our behalf.
But good PR, if you can get it, is a big boost these days, and so if you do feel inclined and have time to give us your vote, then we would very very much appreciate it.
