Chelmsford, Essex - 46 Miles from the Farm Direct Depot

Nicola and Toby Bulgin of Beatbush Farm were one of our very first Farm Direct producers.


Their farm - in the heart of Essex - rears Aberdeen Angus beef, a pedigree breed of French sheep and, in the winter, Legarth geese.


They offering a wide range of cuts and very much encourage 'nose-to-tail' eating, with the availability of beef bones, liver, kidnesy etc.



Beatbush Farm is also a particular haven for wildlife - the British Trust for Ornithology monitor the farm on a monthly basis and have now sighted over 160 different bird species on the farm. Over wintering wildfowl, waders and lapwing numbers now reach 8000-9000, with over 500 Bewick and Whooper swans roosting on the splashes most nights.

Beatbush sheep and cattle are vital to the maintenance of the grassland that benefits the wildlife and Nicola and Toby very much aim is to manage the farm with the environment in mind.
